Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how BagMap collects, uses, discloses, and retains information when you use our mobile application, website, and related services. It describes material data practices rather than every feature or technical implementation.

Information we collect

Account and profile information: email address, username, display name, profile image, authentication identifiers, and preferences.
Content you provide: bag, item, and loadout details; photos; notes; descriptions; tags; community submissions; and support messages.
Purchases and entitlements: product identifiers, subscription status, transaction status, and digital-credit activity. Payment credentials are handled by the applicable app marketplace and are not provided to BagMap.
Usage and diagnostics: interactions with the service, feature usage, device or app information, crash and performance information, and similar operational events.
Website submissions: information you voluntarily provide through the waitlist or support channels, such as your name, email address, and message.

Photos and device permissions

With your permission, BagMap can access the camera or selected photos so you can add images and use photo-assisted features. Some image editing may occur entirely on your device. When you choose a cloud-assisted photo feature or save an image to your account, the selected image and related results may be transmitted and stored to provide that feature. BagMap does not access your camera or photo library without the permission and action required by your device.

If you choose Studio Render, the selected photo is sent to our artificial-intelligence processing provider to identify the primary item and generate a new product-style image. The generated result may differ from the photographed item, so you should review it before saving or publishing it.

How we use information

Provide, personalize, maintain, and secure the service.
Store and synchronize your account and inventory.
Process photo-assisted requests and return suggested results.
Display content that you intentionally publish to community areas.
Manage purchases, subscriptions, credits, support, and account requests.
Measure reliability and usage, troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse, and improve BagMap.
Send launch or product communications when you have requested them.

How we disclose information

We may disclose information to vendors that provide infrastructure, authentication, storage, analytics, customer support, purchase management, communications, or photo-processing services on our behalf. These providers may use information only as permitted to provide their services and are expected to protect it appropriately. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the service.

Information you publish to the community, including your public profile information and published snapshots, can be viewed or copied by other users. Do not publish information you want to keep private. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and transaction records, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose. Deleted information may remain temporarily in restricted backups, logs, or fraud-prevention records before being removed or de-identified. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure.

Your choices

You can edit profile and inventory information, control device permissions in system settings, choose whether to publish community content, and remove content you published where the service provides that control. If you created an account, you can initiate account deletion from the account settings in the app. Account deletion removes the account and associated personal information unless limited retention is required for security, transaction integrity, legal compliance, or another lawful purpose.

You may request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy rights available in your jurisdiction by contacting us. Waitlist subscribers may request removal by emailing hello@bagmap.app. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

Children

BagMap is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. When appropriate, we may provide additional notice in the service.
